IAIK Student Research Excellence Award

Every student at IAIK that becomes a co-author of a scientific publication in the context of a thesis or project, receives this award. This award is handed over each year at our Bachelor@IAIK event for peer-reviewed scientific publications that have been accepted for publication in the last year. The award consists of an Award Certificate and a Graz voucher (GrazGutschein) worth 200 Euro. This award is generously sponsored by Stiftung SIC.

IAIK Bachelor Excellence Award

This award is for students doing a major in “Information Security” at TU Graz and that have completed their Bachelor’s degree with distinction at TU Graz. The first awards will be handed over in October 2024. The concrete procedure and eligibility for these first awards in 2024 are as follows: A student is eligible for the award if the student completes a Bachelor’s degree at TU Graz with distinction (Gesamtbeurteilung „mit Auszeichnung bestanden“) between October 1st, 2023 and September 30, 2024 and if that student enrolls for a major in “Information Security” as part of a Master’s degree program in Computer Science (CS), Information and Computer Engineering (ICE), or Software Engineering and Management (SEM) at TU Graz during the same time frame. Both conditions need to be fulfilled by a student for receiving an award.

The award consists of an Award Certificate and up to 1.000 Euro. The financial part of the award will be done after the awardee has successfully completed 20 ECTS of the catalogue “Information Security” according to the Master curriculum for CS, ICE, or SEM at TU Graz and has completed at least half of the compulsory courses required for a major in “Information Security” according to the corresponding degree program. Award payments are bound to this requirement and the commitment to complete the major in “Information Security”. The total payment sum for IAIK Bachelor Excellence Awards is limited to 8.000 Euro. No student will receive more than 1.000 Euro. In case there are more than 8 awardees, the total payment sum of Euro 8.000 will be distributed equally among all awardees. Eligible students are required to apply for the award by sending an email to awards@iaik.tugraz.at that includes name, student ID number, a transcript of records of the completed Bachelor degree, and a copy of the corresponding Bachelor certificate.

The award program is planned to continue in 2025 and is planned to be announced at Bachelor@IAIK in 2024. However, there is no award program in case there is no dedicated written public announcement on the website of IAIK. The conditions for the award may be updated at any point in time through an update of the award announcement on the IAIK webite. This award is generously sponsored by Stiftung SIC. Payments to awardees will be done directly by Stiftung SIC.
