Catherine is a PhD student, supervised by Asst. Prof. Daniel Gruss, in the Core Security (CoreSec) research group of the IAIK. Her research focuses on software-based microarchitectural attacks and defenses. Before joining the IAIK, she completed her MEng at the University of Bristol in the UK with a focus on security and computer architecture. Her Master's thesis, Undocumented CPU Behaviour on x86 and RISC-V Microarchitectures: A Security Perspective, considered undocumented opcode fuzzing and detection of undocumented instruction behaviour.
