Security Aspects in Software Development - Practicals (WS11/12)

The detailed descriptions of all assignments and additional material can be found in the download section of this page.

Questions

The primary medium for discussing questions about the practical exercises is the course newsgroup tu-graz.lv.sicherheitsaspekte.

Any question regarding the assignments or the exercise in general should be discussed in the newsgroup.

Questions which are not suited for discussion in the newsgroup (eg. problems with group members) can be directed at sicherheitsaspekte@iaik.tugraz.at.

Please think twice before directly contacting any of the tutors or the lecturer via e-mail. In many cases it is more appropriate to contact sicherheitsaspekte@iaik.tugraz.at or to discuss your question in the newsgroup.

Roadmap

The practical exercises are structured into four major tasks. The introductory task (Task 0) is to be done individually by each student on his or her own. The remaining tasks (Task 1, Task 2 and Task 3) are carried out in groups of four students. After the introductory task and at the end of the term there will be short oral exams ("Abgabegespräche").

It is mandatory to complete all four tasks with a positive mark in order to receive a positive mark for this exercise. You will receive a mark for this exercise if you submit a solution for the introductory task. Students who submit a solution for the introductory task but not for the others tasks will receive a negative mark.

The following table shows the dates when the task will be presented and when they have to be submitted (prelimary schedule):
