The goal of this exercise is to get hands-on experience with public-key cryptography. This year (2012) the participants have to implement and attack elliptic curve cryptography as well as RSA. For the implementation a C-framework with test vectors will be provided. The attacks are going to be done using an algorithmic and a timing attack. Details can be found exercise specification.
Grading
For the exercises, a practical project has to be performed (in groups of up to 2). The grading is based on the work of your group and is monitored over the whole semester.
Registration of the group (Excercise 0):
Everybody has to send a signed and encrypted registration email to itsec2012@iaik.tugraz.at with subject: "[ITSec2012] Registration KU". The body of the e-mail should contain the names and immatriculation numbers of all group members.
