SHA-3 Harware Benchmarking
Description
This site contains the results of IAIK's hardware benchmarking of the candidates of the SHA-3 competition. A paper, describing the results in detail can be found here. The results are presented graphically as a Java applet with an interactive XY-plot of area (in kGates) vs. peak throughput (Gbit/s).
Applet Viewing
The applet is a few MB in size, so it may take a while to load. In order to allow the saving of snapshots in various formats, the applet has been signed. Note that when you decline the applet these privileges, you can still view the interactive plot, but will not be able to save snapshots with the built-in functionality. If you want to verify the applet's signature, the CA certificates and the signing certificate can be obtained from the following sites:

The most important operations on the applet:
- Zoom in: Drag rectangle over area (from top left to bottom right corner)
- Zoom out: Drag mouse from top right to bottom left OR Context menu (right mouse button) -> Auto adjust -> Both axes
- Select/deselect implementations to display: Use check boxes on the right
- Save snapshot: Context menu -> Save as (formats PNG, PDF)
- Details on a specific synthesis run: Hover mouse over line marker in plot (make sure that the applet has focus by clicking it first)
