Crypto Unit Macrocell

Project Description

The OMI Crypto Unit Macrocell (CUM) provides an effective way to introduce crypto-co-processing into your embedded system:

  • It fully complies with the OMI PI-bus standard,
  • It also comes with the option of a general asynchronous 8-bit interface.
  • It may be instantiated for low-power applications as well as high-performance applications.
  • It is available for asymmetric as well as for symmetric crypto processing. The asymmetric core cryptoprocessing unit is available for various operand lengths up to 2048 bits, and can also be parameterized with respect to silicon area and speed. The symmetric core is based on a TripleDES machine and may be included as an additional module.
  • Due to its modularity and scalability most typical crypto hardware needs may be satisfied with the CUM. It integrates the Crypto Logic Unit core, control and interface.
  • It incorporates a two-level compression of micro-scripts.
  • It contains a writeable memory for micro-scripts.
  • It has a local memory for the modulus. It has an internal programmable clock oscillator.
