GINI-SA
Global Identity Networking of Individuals - Support Action
GINI-SA project aims to investigate and set the foundations for the architectural, legal, regulatory requirements and the provisioning and privacy enhancing aspects of a framework of user-centric identity management services. GINI-SA is based on the assumption that individual citizens, consumers, users of any services, should be able to control their own identity data and provide it or not in an open and flexible manner. As a Support Action, the main goal and ambition of the project is to form the basis whereupon the research community in the field of identity management, the policymakers like the European Commission and other stakeholders that are either institutional, industrial or social will consult together driven by the project’s activities in order to advance the research agenda across the EU which will lead to the implementation of new, user-centric services.
GINI-SA project will work towards the vision of a Personal Identity Management environment where individuals will be able to manage their own identity space (Individual Digital Identity – INDI), where User-specific identity services will be available in the INDI space with certain privacy protection and privacy enhancement provisions.
This project has been funded with support from the European Commission under the SEVENTH FRAMEWORK PROGRAMME THEME ICT 2009.7.3 ICT for Governance and Policy Modelling.
