Elisabeth Oswald

Curriculum vitae

Elisabeth was born in Wolfsberg, a small town in Carinthia. After finishing school (the BORG Wolfsberg) in 1993, she studied Technical Mathematics with an emphasis on information processing at the Technical University in Graz. She finished her studies 1999 with a master thesis on cryptanalysis of the DES. Her supervisor was Reinhard Posch (IAIK), who also supervised her PH.D. research. She finished her doctoral studies in 2003 with distinction. The members of the jury of her defense were Reinhard Posch, Bart Preneel and Karl Christian Posch. Her main working area is side-channel cryptanalysis, but she is also interested in all other kinds of cryptanalysis and she has a preference for elliptic curve cryptography. In October 2006, Elisabeth joined the crypto group at the University of Bristol.
