Traveling to Graz

By Plane Directly to Graz

Graz has its own international airport called Thalerhof. The international airport code is GRZ. There are generally very good international flight connections to Graz airport. Most indirect flights to/from Graz Thalerhof go over Frankfurt (FRA), Munich (MUC) and Vienna (VIE).

Low-cost carriers flying to Graz are Ryan Air (London, Barcelona, Sardinia) and Tui-Fly (Cologne). Not so low cost, but maybe an option for some are InterSky (Berlin, Friedrichshafen), Robin Hood (Zurich, Stuttgart), welcome air (Göteborg, Hannover, Innsbruck, Olbia, Split, Stavanger) and Fly Niki (Mallorca).

To get from the Graz airport to the city it is preferrable to either take a cab or the bus. A timetable for the busses leaving from and arriving at the Graz airport can be found here. To reach hotel Novapark, we recommend you to take the bus to the Graz city center and leave at bus stop Jakominiplatz. From there take tram number 1,3,6,7 in direction to the mainstation (Hauptbahnhof/Wetzelsdorf/Eggenberg), get off at Peter-Rosseggerhouse and change to bus number 67 - in direction to Zankelstraße. Go as far as Fischeraustraße and get off.

Additionally you can also take the train to the city. The train station Flughafen Graz - Feldkirchen is located a few hundred meters from the airport. The train arrives at the Graz Hauptbahnhof (central station). From there, either take a cab or take bus number 52 in direction to Andritz - bus stop: Exerzierplatzstraße.

By Plane to Vienna, by Train From Vienna to Graz

If you can't fly to Graz directly (or cheaply enough), it is also possible to fly to Vienna and arrive in Graz per train. From Vienna International Airport you can take the train to Graz Hauptbahnhof (central station). You need to change at least once at Vienna Südbahnhof (South train station). Some of the trains require you to change a second time (at Bruck an der Mur or Leoben). For trains going from Vienna to Graz see the online schedule information of the Austrian national train operator OEBB (use the station names Airport VIE and Graz for the search). From Graz Hauptbahnhof, Take bus number 52 in direction to Andritz - you have to get of at bus stop Exerzierplatzstraße.
